#tbt there was that time I was in a band with @wbmorgue @jksmileyface and Greg. We got to play this crazy house show where this one girl never moved from her spot and then @throughtheages_ @burritomike Spenser and myself got to debut our #athens superstar hardcore group #pizzasaurus. This same weekend I forged alliances with @yoibomb to create the hardest band know to man, but due to legal issues and law enforcement I can’t talk about that.
#tbt The one time I got to go to @agendashow #longbeach with @itsessince. Got to meet some fun people like @9fivers Robinson and the #jbc/ @youthfairfax own @mizzle_jbc. Great time seeing how brands do their thing as well as seeing the area. We also got to help flip a car for a music video @dizzeerascal was shooting down in the valley. Let’s just say there wasn’t a dull moment out in Cali.
This thought has been brewing in my head all night after listening to #kickpush. I feel @lupefiasco has been pushed aside by many to champion artists such as kanye pharell and wale as innovators and leaders in getting people on certain styles and shoes. If you listen to #foodandliquor, Lupe was rappin about clothes and shoes others weren’t on yet. He personally got me to try to research brands that he was into and crash coursed me into streetwear. This got me to look into stores such as #boundlessny and then others such as the mega company #karmaloop and @mtvtn . It also got me to start to find out what ohio had to offer with @heartandsole216, @soleclassics @corporategotem. The only other person that got me to start diving into what was out there and not in most malls was @chuckfalkbarber when he would post on the old #rightidea site/blog. The dude was used to help start @stalley road to a record deal when the Ohio native used kick push on his first demo. I don’t know if I’m getting tired of seeing the same people be hoisted up into the spotlight when there has been someone doing the same thing in his own lane. So thank you Lupe for the great music and Spotlight into a culture that is now being “cultivated” into something that can be muddied and ruined by the idea of high end is where the next trend is at.
